Extreme caution required unless you have very good lighting, as the tunnel bends, so there is a long stretch where you can't see the openings and it is pitch black. There are no reflectors mounted on the tunnel walls as there often are on these unlit tunnels which makes it hard to see where the walls are. The only tunnel where I was happy to have traffic because of the headlamps.

Route can be seen easily on google maps and is a nice quiet ride - Martin U.	This is not a pleasant tunnel. It is very busy with a lot of trucks. There is a raised pavement and it's best to use this. But take it slow and careful: there is rubbish on the pavement and you can get disorientated in the tunnel.
	Møre og Romsdal	Moatunnelen	E39	560m	Yes	Yes		Be careful in this tunnel. It's not as long as its neighbour, but it's still disorientating in the heavy traffic. There is a raised pavement you can and should cycle on - but take it slowly as there are signs and other things sticking out of the walls. Do not try to cycle past the signs - I did this and nearly fell onto the road: there simply isn't enough room.

Watch out for falling ice and rocks in the spring, it is not recommended to ride outside the tunnel from december to april.

	Nordland	Kvænflåget	E6	1747m	Yes	Yes	The old road appears to still exist, but I would not want to guarentee it and you will have to lift bike and panniers over a crash barrier at the north end to get back onto the road.	Tunnel was OK, but from the south there is a nasty climb up to it before it levels off in the tunnel and then proceeds downhill within the tunnel. We easily reached +40km/h. Tunnel is reasonably well lit and has good air flow through it - but again quite cold. There are several emergency bays (not tarmaced) on the fjord side of the tunnel, and a good strip of tarmac to the right of the white line as well, but the tunnel does leak bringing sand down into the tunnel at points - bare this in mind if it has been raining heavily!

It may be possible to still use the old road, but and this is a big but, there are barriers in the way and it is badly overgrown and looked better for wild camping on than cycling along!	Lighting was not fantastic, road surface not great, but tunnel OK. Also a pavement type area that could be used to push bike through, but not cycle on due to deep drains in the way. We had to stick very near to the white line to avoid some of the missing road surface - additional lights are a must - the holes were not ones to hit.
	Nordland	Dalmovikhalstunnelen	E6	164m	Yes	Poor.	From the south you need to take the Rognan road some km's before hand, from the north, the Rognan road is off immediately before hand. Adds 3km or so to the distance.	Lighting was not fantastic, road surface not great, but tunnel OK.
	Nordland	Saltnestunnelen	E6	466m	Yes	Poor.	From south, take the Rognan road - about 7km in total, but allows you to bypass this and the next tunnel the Dalmovikhalstunnelen. This probably adds 3km or so, but gives shops and a campsite. From the north you need to have turned off before the previous tunnel to get to the same Rognan road.	Lighting is not great, road surface was not great in places, but could not actually see any major issues with the tunnel itself.

On the south side of the tunnel i.e.coming from the Oanes ferry, the alternative route begins about 1.1km before the tunnel itself on the left hand side of the road. It is marked only by one small sign so is easily missed. If coming from the north i.e. from the ferry at Tau, take a right onto Tunglandsvegen and left onto Jøssangvegen. Especially for those coming from the south, using the alternative route will mean much less uphill cycling than using the tunnel.	Short tunnel, no problem. Well lit and in daylight both ends are visible from the entrance.

The route up from the south isn't so bad.	Ride through tunnel should be possible and allowed, I haven't seen any signs. I didn't cycled through the tunnel, because I was told it wasn't allowed, so I took the bus through the tunnel. There's a route around it, see alternative route below.

Be careful, use good lights because I saw drivers overtaking lorries in this tunnel really near me.

In the middle of the tunnel there is an extension designed to drive oncoming cars. The road in the tunnel has a significant slope from the South-West entrance to the North-East. In addition, the North-East traffic light is at a great distance from the entrance to the tunnel. When driving from the North-East, I started driving at a traffic light, then stopped before entering the tunnel. Missed oncoming cars, then passing and then started moving again. Stopped in the middle of the tunnel, missed oncoming cars, then passing and then again began to move.
