Sogn og FjordaneAllmenningstunnelen15342mYesYesTunnel has a pavement/sidewalk just about wide enough to cycle easily (1.2m), with just one sign sticking out at around head height halfway through. Well lit so you can see the sign before it hits you ;)

NordlandRyggedalen8201621mYesYesWell surfaced and lit, slight climb at the start but good roll-out at the other end.
NordlandSteinfjordtunnelen8621265myesYes but poorly litThis is one of three tunnels on this stretch of road that has a button at each end that you can push to activate warning lights to alert cars to the fact that there are cyclists passing through it and so to drive carefully. Cyclists can also burrow a reflective vest before the first tunnel and give it back after the last one. Thanks to Gu for this info.
NordlandSvartholla862310mYesYesSvartholla Tunnel is now open for cyclists.
NordlandHesten862350mYesYes but poorly lit. No alternative route. One of three tunnels on the road 862 which have the cycling alert button, which you press and then alerting other traffic that there is a cyclist in the tunnel. Does also have a reflectable vest in a mailbox that you borrow and placing it on the other side of the tunnel.
FinnmarkStallogargotunnelen942298mYesYesReindeer congregating inside can be a problem. Well lit with a good shoulder though.

NordlandKorgfjelltunnelenE68530 mNoYesOld Road 'Europaveien' over the montain. From the north: use Junction 650m before the tunnel From the south: use the junction 800m before the tunnel There is a sign before the tunnel for a bike path over the mountain. This is 10 km south of Korgen on E6.
HordalandMyrkdalstunnelen131100myesYesThe seemingly alternative route on the west-side of the tunnel is closed. From the north side immediately at the start by a chain. From the south side you cycle a part but then the road becomes worse due to previous flooding and/or rockfall. -F.C. Drost This is a well lit tunnel, with not alot of traffic. Fine for cyclists.
Møre og RomsdalSkrøotunnelen622310mYesYesThere is an old road that goes around the tunnel to the north following the edge of the fjord. It is very well lit and fine to cycle through. It is quite busy though, and there were a few trucks on the road. So if you are not comfortable going through tunnels you might want to go on the old road around it.
Sogn og FjordaneStorehaugtunnelen131044mYesYesNot very busy, not that long, fine to cycle through.
HordalandLiarostunnelen7563myesYesAn alternative road just outside of the tunnel, I walked it today. It’s paved but has rocks on it and overhanging trees. However you can use this to avoid the tunnel. Legal to ride but there IS an alternative road just outside of the tunnel, I walked it today. It’s paved but has rocks on it and overhanging trees. However you can use this to avoid the tunnel
HordalandFossenbrattetunnelen7600mYesYesThere is a charming little road around the tunnel, passing a war memorial. There are no signs prohibiting cycling in this tunnel, thus cycling is allowed. Though there is a nice cycleway around it
Sogn og FjordaneFløgatunnelen 6151400myesYesNone needed. Not much traffic.
Møre og RomsdalRingsettunnelen650592myesYesNone.This tunnel is fairly steep about 8% west to east, all traffic in this direction comes from the ferry from Stranda, so just wait for all the motor vehicles to pass and you won't have any traffic from behind.
Sogn og FjordaneSørheim II - Galdanetunnelen331878mYesNoneNone, except to take rv55 on the other side of the fjord. The scariest tunnel I have ever ridden through. Extreme caution required unless you have very good lighting, as the tunnel bends, so there is a long stretch where you can't see the openings and it is pitch black. There are no reflectors mounted on the tunnel walls as there often are on these unlit tunnels which makes it hard to see where the walls are. The only tunnel where I was happy to have traffic because of the headlamps.
Sogn og FjordaneSørheim I - Kvita Skred-tunnelen331297myesNone.Very Dark
HordalandHøgabergtunnelen569633mYesNone.None.Caution a narrow single track tunnel with no lighting except for the occasional cut out rock window.
NordlandHjartåstunnelen781127mYesYesThe old road outside, it's narrow and the guard rail is gone somewhere. The tunnel is wide on both sides of the road, so cycling is easy. It's a little dark somewhere but not too bad.
NordlandKorsnestunnelen78471mNoNone.It's possible to take your bike on a bus through Toventunnelen. No lights and no traffic. The road is closed by a locked swing gate 400 m to the East and a landslide 8 km to the West. Both can be passed by carrying your bike.
NordlandKleiva976100mYesYesThe old road outside, however this is NOT recommended because it has no guardrail. And someplace there is a big hole that you might fall in. And you have to lift your bicycle over the guardrail and up a steep hill to get to the old road. Also there is no asphalt there, only grass. It's wide enough to bicycle even with a 2-wheel bicycle trailer. Use reflectors!
NordlandMosåstunelenE6253mYesYesThe old E6 now called Vefsnveien over Olderskog. The tunnel is short, but there is a lot of traffic going through it. There are scary spikes poking out of the wall. There are curbs on the sides, but they are hard to get on or off in speed. There are also manhole-covers that can make you fall in there.
AkershusHagantunnelen42595mNo?Go through Slattum centre.
NordlandTømmernesetE6712myesYesNone.A lot of traffic.
NordlandMiddagsfjelltunnelenE62074mNoyesTake the bus along the E6 road with your bike or cycle Fv613.Closed for cyclists. According to SINTEF, the tunnel has large condensation so dangerous situations could happen.

Møre og RomsdalMorkaåstunnelen653700mYesYesThe long way round is Berknesvegen/Sjoevegen. Or Ytrestoeylen/Ytrehovdevegen. Invariably dry and not busy, as the main road leads to Eiksundtunnelen. Google Streetview is accurate.
Møre og RomsdalSelvågtunnelen6531080mYesYesThere is an unpaved beautiful alternative at the narrow old road at the outside. This is 2-3k extra. This can be dirty when there is rainy wether - but the road is good an can be used also by racer.I live here, and I've been cycling through a hundred times. In the morning and afternoon the traffic can be heavy. 3-4000 cars a day.
Sogn og FjordaneBreimsfjelltunnelen IIE39868mYesYesCycled this tunnel without any difficulties, normally not that much traffic here.
Møre og RomsdalBlindheimstunnelenE39840mYesYesIt is a busy road. Tunnel is completely avoidable if you follow road through Breiveika that goes over top of tunnel. Route can be seen easily on google maps and is a nice quiet ride - Martin U. This is not a pleasant tunnel. It is very busy with a lot of trucks. There is a raised pavement and it's best to use this. But take it slow and careful: there is rubbish on the pavement and you can get disorientated in the tunnel.
Møre og RomsdalMoatunnelenE39560mYesYesBe careful in this tunnel. It's not as long as its neighbour, but it's still disorientating in the heavy traffic. There is a raised pavement you can and should cycle on - but take it slowly as there are signs and other things sticking out of the walls. Do not try to cycle past the signs - I did this and nearly fell onto the road: there simply isn't enough room.
Møre og RomsdalRemmemtunnelenE3959mYesYesShort easy tunnel.
Møre og RomsdalHellandtunnelenE39150mYesYesShort easy tunnel.
Sogn og FjordaneÅrøytunnelen55430mYesYesUse the small road east of 55.It is possible but not fun. Little space.
Sogn og FjordaneStupshølentunnelen5577mYesNone.Short easy tunnel.
Sogn og FjordaneRøneidtunnelen55657mYesYesThe old road by the fjord. Upgraded i 2017. This tunnel is totally upgraded in 2018/2019. New lights, it even got these buttons on the outside where you can push to warn cars about cyclists the in tunnel. The old road by the fjord is also fully upgraded, with asphalt, and absolutely NO cars. Watch out for falling ice and rocks in the spring, it is not recommended to ride outside the tunnel from december to april.
Sogn og FjordaneRåumtunnelen55514mYesYesThe old road is in poor condition. It is rideable om MTB, gravel or CX. The scenery is nice though. This tunnel is fully upgraded in 2019. New and very good lightning. You can see through the entire tunnel. New signs, Syklist i tunnel, press the button and use them.

NordlandKannflogtunnelenE6759mYes?If you have cycled this tunnel and can add any information please fill in our tunnel information form.
NordlandKannflogetE6@800mYesYesWell lit and wide but a steep climb or descent for a cyclist.
NordlandBerrflogetE61407mYesYes but poorly lit.Off to the side there is the old road which is a little bumpy in places but is in a suitable condition for bikes. We did not actually go through the tunnel as there is an alternative route.
NordlandKalviktunnelenE62729mYesYesN/A Nice long, wide straight tunnel.

NordlandTømmeråstunnelen827561mYesYesThis tunnel is fine to cycle through. Road traffic is low especially when Kjøpsvik ferry isn't disembarking vehicles, every even hour.
NordlandEfjordtunnelen8271622mYesYesThis tunnel is fine to cycle through. Road traffic is low especially when Kjøpsvik ferry isn't disembarking vehicles, every even hour.
NordlandKvænflågetE61747mYesYesThe old road appears to still exist, but I would not want to guarentee it and you will have to lift bike and panniers over a crash barrier at the north end to get back onto the road. Tunnel was OK, but from the south there is a nasty climb up to it before it levels off in the tunnel and then proceeds downhill within the tunnel. We easily reached +40km/h. Tunnel is reasonably well lit and has good air flow through it - but again quite cold. There are several emergency bays (not tarmaced) on the fjord side of the tunnel, and a good strip of tarmac to the right of the white line as well, but the tunnel does leak bringing sand down into the tunnel at points - bare this in mind if it has been raining heavily!
NordlandSetsåhøgdatunnelenE6183mYesPoor.Again old road appears to still exist, but tunnel was not an issue and you could push bike through if really needed.Short, not particularly well lit, but could see all the way through from the word go, so no real issues with it.
NordlandSaksenviktunnelenE61148mYesPoor.It may be possible to still use the old road, but and this is a big but, there are barriers in the way and it is badly overgrown and looked better for wild camping on than cycling along!Lighting was not fantastic, road surface not great, but tunnel OK. Also a pavement type area that could be used to push bike through, but not cycle on due to deep drains in the way. We had to stick very near to the white line to avoid some of the missing road surface - additional lights are a must - the holes were not ones to hit.
NordlandDalmovikhalstunnelenE6164mYesPoor.From the south you need to take the Rognan road some km's before hand, from the north, the Rognan road is off immediately before hand. Adds 3km or so to the distance.Lighting was not fantastic, road surface not great, but tunnel OK.
NordlandSaltnestunnelenE6466mYesPoor.From south, take the Rognan road - about 7km in total, but allows you to bypass this and the next tunnel the Dalmovikhalstunnelen. This probably adds 3km or so, but gives shops and a campsite. From the north you need to have turned off before the previous tunnel to get to the same Rognan road.Lighting is not great, road surface was not great in places, but could not actually see any major issues with the tunnel itself.
NordlandNessettunnelenE6578mNo?Use the local cycle route around the tunnel.Tunnel closed to cyclists.

Nord TrøndelagKoatunnelenE660mYesYesIf going north/south you can just follow the road on the east. No alternative if you have to get to the other side of the fjord. The tunnel itself is very short is straight and not very steep. Still the E6 there is a reason to avoid it because of the heavy traffic.
Nord TrøndelagVærnestunnelen nordE6135mYesYesA very easy tunnel. Just stick to the cycle path.
Nord TrøndelagVærnestunnelen sørE646mYesYesA very short, easy tunnel. Just stick to the cycle path.

RogalandNibåtunnelen13113mYesYes but poorly lit. Alternative route is 8 km longer - FV 495 KvalvågveienShort and easy, no problem
RogalandHølleslitunnelen13822mYesYes but poorly lit.FV495 Kvalvågvegen Ridden in May 2025 during resurfacing works. Poor lighting (and eyesight…) leaves some uncertainty, but it seems to be gravel, dirt, rainwater and old tarmac. Fortunately no traffic, but I got through it without hanging around. Going from south to north would be an uphill drag.
RogalandLiahammartunnelen491257mYesYesTunnel has a seperate foot/cycle path.
RogalandBotsheitunnelen13200mYesYesFV495 Kvalvaagvegen, but it’s twice as long as the direct route.Short, well lit, wide and with a pavement/sidewalk in both directions if needed.
RogalandNotviktunnelen13150mYesYesIt's more comfortable to take the Jøssangvegen, which goes along the shore with almost no traffic. Contributor -Bernd. On the south side of the tunnel i.e.coming from the Oanes ferry, the alternative route begins about 1.1km before the tunnel itself on the left hand side of the road. It is marked only by one small sign so is easily missed. If coming from the north i.e. from the ferry at Tau, take a right onto Tunglandsvegen and left onto Jøssangvegen. Especially for those coming from the south, using the alternative route will mean much less uphill cycling than using the tunnel. Short tunnel, no problem. Well lit and in daylight both ends are visible from the entrance.

Sogn og FjordaneSteiggjatunnelen531550mYesYesTake a bus from Lærdal to Øvre Årdal or there is an old run down road around the side, but marked as closed due to rock fall. The tunnel has no sign forbidding cyclists, but it there is limited space on the edge of the road to ride, relatively poorly lit, and cars travelling at 80+ km/hr. I went in but got off my bike and walked in the mud on the side. Was very glad to get out the other side. Too risky for my liking and I don't believe it is normally cycled according to conversations with locals I had.

Sogn og FjordaneGullringtunnelen551210mYesYesNice old road by the fjord. Watch out for falling rocks though. The tunnel is ok in winter and spring, as the old road by the fjord is blocked by snow and avalanches. In summer though, the old road is very nice, but watch out for falling rocks.

HordalandFurubergtunnelen551736m?Yes but poorly lit.No.The tunnel has reverse traffic controlled by traffic lights. The tunnel is very narrow, oncoming traffic is difficult. In the middle of the tunnel there is an extension designed to drive oncoming cars. The road in the tunnel has a significant slope from the South-West entrance to the North-East. In addition, the North-East traffic light is at a great distance from the entrance to the tunnel. When driving from the North-East, I started driving at a traffic light, then stopped before entering the tunnel. Missed oncoming cars, then passing and then started moving again. Stopped in the middle of the tunnel, missed oncoming cars, then passing and then again began to move.
