Atlanterhavstunnelen - Additional information

Comment: There is a paying booth and both ends of the tunnel. I arrived late at night, after the last bus. The friendly guy in the paying booth was happy to order me a Maxi-Taxi from Kristiansund that would fit my bike also. Set me back around 250 NOK. Alternative would have been to wait for the first bus in the morning. alter: None. Take the bus or order a taxi.notes: There is a paying booth and both ends of the tunnel. Comment: A big hairy scary tunnel banned to cyclists, with lots of fast traffic. The only way through is on the bus: you can get on the bus at the previous town and save yourself time in the saddle. We had two very loaded touring bikes and the driver asked us to take the panniers off to make it easier to get the bikes into the bus - which was a big coach. There is a special shelter for cyclists to wait just before the tunnel and the busses stop there. We had our two bikes on our bus and another bike was put on at the tunnel entrance, no problem. - July 2016
