Lofoten Isles Tour, Norway 2006

Reine, NorwayThe Lofoten Isles are a great place to cycle tour, the relatively traffic free roads are fairly flat mostly hugging the coast lines of the islands. The worse climbing is over the hump-backed bridges that link the islands.

The outlying islands of Røst and Værøy are enchanting with their isolation, contrasting terrain and wonderful bird colonies. The main islands have dramatic scenery with rugged pinnacled ridges mountains reflecting in crystal blue fjords. Pretty fishing villages with maroon painted wooden houses line the coast and fjord sides.
