Guides

Guides to this part of the North Sea Cycle Route are a bit thin on the ground, however there are some information booklets produced by the local tourist boards.

map imageThe Halland district produces an A4 colour 11page guide entitled 'Halland - Cycle trails at your own pace'. It describes the 'Ginsteden', the 'Cykelspåret' and the 'Hylteslingan' and 'North Sea Cycle' routes that run through their district. There are some strip maps (1:50,000) of the routes and brief descriptions. It is now available in English or German. You can view the guide on-line here or a paper copy can be obtained for free by either ordering online here from the Halland district website or e-mailing them at

map imageThe Västsvenska Tourist board produces a guide entitled 'Cykelspåret Bohuslän (Göteborg and northwards)'. It describes the ' Cykelspåret' cycle route that runs through their district. There are some strip maps (@1:200,000) of the routes (not really good enough to navigate by) and brief descriptions. It is currently only available in electronic form, in Swedish - but a translation of all the text into English in a separate Word document can also be  provided. It can be obtained for free by e-mailing them at
